Abstract

This research aims to describe the perception of the responsible and ethical use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) among university students. The study was developed under a quantitative descriptive approach, with a sample of 210 students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 631 participants. The results show a high integration of GAI in the academic environment, highlighting its frequent use as a support tool for research and the development of academic work. However, a significant gap is identified between its use and the recognition of its ethical implications. In addition, limited institutional training is observed. It is concluded that GAI represents a powerful tool for learning, but its integration in the academic environment must be accompanied by ethical training and clear regulations, promoting the development of critical thinking and the responsible use of these technologies.
