Declaration of Ethics and Good Practices

The journal's Steering Committee is committed to presenting and promoting knowledge with ethical rigor and good editorial practices. It is for this reason that AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences adheres to the Code of Conduct established by the Publications Ethics Committee, specifically written for editors of scientific journals. (COPE: Committee on Publication Ethics).

  • Responsibilities of the editorial team

    As responsible for the journal, the board and editorial team are committed to work for their academic quality, respect for expression, content ethics and the correct management of this means of scientific dissemination. This means that AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, adheres to the policies and practices necessary for publications and publishers to reach the highest standards in publication ethics. In this way, we assume as our own everything established by COPE in its sections

    1. Allegations of Misconduct

      AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences takes accusations of misconduct very seriously, before and after publication. These are discussed in our Editorial Board, and if necessary, are submitted to the Advisory Committee to define the measures to be taken in each case. Possible accusations are taken into account regardless of when they occur. Either before or after publication.

    2. Authorship and contribution

      The authors are instructed to specify their degree of contribution to the work and in what capacity, according to the requirements of authorship and contribution, as well as the processes to manage possible disputes. AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences recognizes authorship or co-authorship if the researcher has participated in any or all of the moments that take place in the two dimensions of creating an article (writing and research), provided they give their final approval of the article before publication.

    3. Complaints and appeals

      Complaints against the journal, its staff, the editorial committee or the editor, should be addressed to the owner of the journal who, together with the sponsoring entity, will decide the seriousness and fairness of the accusations and, if appropriate, will take the necessary measures with the or those responsible.

    4. Conflicts of interest / competing interests

      We pay special attention to conflicts of interest and processes to handle conflicts of interest of authors, reviewers, and journal's editor, identified before or after publication.

      We have on our website a "Declaration of conflicts of interest" which establishes the way to solve any potential conflict of this type of one or more authors, related to affiliation entities or financial issues regarding the research presented in the Article.

    5. Data and reproducibility

      Our policy is to open the availability of data from the sponsoring institution, through the UNPHU Repository (http://repositorio.unphu.edu.do/) and other databases, as well as to encourage the use of reporting guidelines and study designs in accordance with standard practice in our disciplines (Humanities, Architecture and Social Sciences).

    6. Ethical supervision

      AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences adds to the ethical supervision of its publications, the observation, among others, of consent policies for publication, publication in vulnerable populations, ethical conduct of research with animals, ethical conduct of research with human beings, handling of confidential data and practices business ethics / marketing.

    7. Scientific Journal Management

      AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is an open access digital journal with a print version that is distributed free of charge to universities, institutions and associates. Its policies, processes and software for its efficient operation, allow us to be an editorially independent journal, and guarantees the efficient management and training of editorial boards and editorial staff.

    8. Peer Review Processes

      We strictly observe the double blind peer review method, clearly described in all our publications.

      All articles must be original, unpublished, written with the property required by scientific journals and must follow APA standards.

    9. Post-publication discussions and corrections

      The articles must be unpublished, however, subsequent publication is allowed on other sites, prior information from the author through letters to the editor. We have mechanisms to correct, review or retract articles after publication.

      In the same way, if the author discovers fundamental errors or impressions in his article already published, he has the duty to inform the Editor in Chief as soon as possible and in the same way deliver all the necessary information so that such mistake is resolved.

    Readers have access to communication with the authors and the editorial team, through the journal's portal.

  • Relationship with the authors

    AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences assumes the commitment to guarantee the quality of its publications, and to inform about the standards for publication of the journal, and to follow up correctly on its communication with the authors.

  • Relationship with evaluators

    AULA Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences makes available to the evaluating peers the guidelines regarding their work for the articles assigned for evaluation. Your identity is protected with full guarantee of anonymity.
